Falcons Roll Past De Anza and Napa Valley in Dominant Two-Game Stretch
The bats were explosive, the pitching was overpowering, and the results were decisive as the Folsom Lake College baseball team delivered back-to-back statement victories over De Anza College and Napa Valley College.
Over the two games, the Falcons outscored their opponents 21-1, showcasing depth on the mound and relentless production throughout the lineup.
Offensive Explosion in 13-1 Rout at De Anza
On February 20 in Cupertino, Folsom Lake erupted for 13 runs on 18 hits in a 13-1 dismantling of De Anza.
The Falcons wasted no time getting on the board when Connor Barth launched a first-inning home run. After De Anza briefly tied the game on a sacrifice fly, Folsom Lake seized control for good in the third inning.
Trajan Rogowski led the charge with a monster day at the plate, going 4-for-6 with two triples, four runs scored, and three RBIs. Dylan Green added three hits, including a two-run homer in the fourth that stretched the lead to 6-1.
The Falcons continued to pile on late, scoring three runs in the eighth and four more in the ninth. Keegan Kahalehoe, John Handy, and George Shykowski all delivered key RBIs in the final two frames to put the game well out of reach.
While the offense grabbed headlines, the pitching staff was just as dominant. Nine different Falcon pitchers combined for a three-hit performance, striking out 13 and allowing just one earned run. After the opening inning, De Anza never seriously threatened.
Pitching Dominates in 8-0 Shutout of Napa Valley
Three days later on February 23, Folsom Lake returned home and delivered another complete performance, blanking Napa Valley 8-0.
The Falcons struck early again, scoring twice in the first inning. Green tripled to drive in Rogowski, and Handy followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
From there, the pitching staff took over.
Roland "Noah" Madsen set the tone with five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five. Shane Saunders, Aj Cox, and Jack Hershey combined to finish the shutout, as the staff totaled 13 strikeouts and limited Napa Valley to just four hits.
Offensively, Folsom Lake didn't need 18 hits this time — seven proved more than enough. The Falcons capitalized on opportunities in the fourth, seventh, and eighth innings, taking advantage of timely hitting and Napa Valley miscues.
Rogowski and Green each tripled again, continuing their hot streaks, while Asa Martinez and Jace Bystrowski delivered key RBIs to extend the lead. The Falcons also showed discipline at the plate, drawing six walks and consistently applying pressure.
Complete Team Effort
Across the two games, Folsom Lake displayed its balance and depth. The lineup produced extra-base power, situational hitting, and late-inning insurance runs. On the mound, 13 pitchers combined to allow just one run over 18 innings while striking out 26.
It was the type of all-around performance that signals a team finding its rhythm.
If this two-game stretch is any indication, the Falcons are heating up at exactly the right time.
