Folsom Lake Falls 82–71 in Home Contest vs. Diablo Valley

The Folsom Lake Falcons showed grit and determination but ultimately came up short, falling 82–71 to Diablo Valley College on Saturday afternoon at Folsom Lake. Despite strong individual performances and stretches of solid play, the Falcons were unable to overcome Diablo Valley's balanced scoring and defensive pressure.

Diablo Valley held a slim 37–32 lead at halftime, and while Folsom Lake kept the game within reach throughout the second half, the visitors capitalized on key possessions to maintain control down the stretch. The Falcons outshot Diablo Valley from the field, finishing at 47.5 percent, but struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just 2-of-15 three-point attempts.

Dylan Sayer led all Falcons with a game-high 22 points, attacking the basket and converting at the free-throw line to keep Folsom Lake competitive. Moses Oginni delivered a strong all-around performance with 14 points, five rebounds, and five blocks, anchoring the defense and protecting the rim. Davell Brown and Ahmad Lloyd each added 11 points, with Lloyd also contributing five assists and strong perimeter defense.

Folsom Lake controlled the glass with a 39–30 rebounding advantage, highlighted by consistent effort on both ends of the floor. However, turnovers proved costly, as the Falcons committed 28 giveaways, leading to transition opportunities for Diablo Valley.

Despite the loss, the Falcons showed resilience and flashes of their potential, battling until the final buzzer against a tough Diablo Valley squad. With continued focus on ball security and perimeter shooting, Folsom Lake looks to bounce back and build on the positives as conference play continues.
