The Folsom Lake men's soccer team experienced perhaps their craziest finish of any game on Friday afternoon at Falcon Stadium, where they came away shaking their heads after a 2-1 victory over Delta College. After a scoreless first half, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute on Mustafa Ali's goal - assisted by Freddie Allen - and held that lead for the next 30 minutes of play. But during stoppage time, things got out of hand as the referee issued six yellow cards and a red card in the final five minutes. The final frantic minute included a Falcon penalty in the box, allowing the Mustangs to tie the game on the Penalty Kick. But less than 30 seconds later, the Falcons were awarded a PK after a Mustang penalty, and sophomore defender Alejandro Flores sent the PK into the net for the game-winning goal.
Ironically, the last time these two teams met (on October 4), the Falcons scored four goals in the final 15 minutes to pull out a 5-4 win.
