Falcons Soar Through October Stretch, Stay Red-Hot With Three Straight Wins

The Folsom Lake men's soccer team continued their dominant fall campaign with an impressive week of victories, outscoring opponents 8–1 across three matches. The Falcons picked up commanding wins over Modesto, Cosumnes River, and Santa Rosa to improve their conference record and extend their unbeaten streak.

Folsom Lake 6, Modesto 1 — October 3, 2025 (Modesto)

The Falcons opened the road trip with an offensive explosion, cruising to a 6–1 victory over Modesto.
Paola Clark started the scoring in the 30th minute off an assist from Edgar Vega, and Samuel Arnold doubled the lead before halftime with help from Thualfikar Alaskati.

After Modesto briefly cut the deficit to 2–1 early in the second half, Folsom Lake responded with four unanswered goals. Alaskati, Nathaniel Fong, Garrett Veirs, and Angel Ayala Rodriguez each found the back of the net, with assists coming from Issac Harrison and Veirs.

Goalkeeper Danny Tejeda was solid in net, allowing just one goal and recording three saves in the full 90 minutes. The convincing win showcased Folsom Lake's depth and attacking balance, with six different players tallying goals.

Four days later, the Falcons defended home turf in a tightly contested match against Cosumnes River, earning a hard-fought 1–0 shutout victory.

Defender James Murillo netted the lone goal of the match in the 36th minute, finishing a setup from Samuel Arnold. The Falcons' defense remained disciplined, limiting Cosumnes River to just two shots on target.

Goalkeeper Fernando Garcia made one key save to preserve the clean sheet, his second of the season. Folsom Lake's midfield controlled the tempo throughout, showing composure and organization even as Cosumnes River pressed late.

To close out the week, Folsom Lake traveled north and earned another gritty 1–0 road win over Santa Rosa.

Issac Harrison scored the decisive goal in the 30th minute, assisted by Alaskati, whose strong offensive play continued from earlier in the week. Despite playing down a man late after a red card to defender Ty Hunter, the Falcons' back line held firm.

Goalkeeper Fernando Garcia delivered a standout performance, making six saves to record his second consecutive shutout and seal the victory.


Coach's Take

Head Coach Justin Johnson praised the team's focus and consistency.

"We're showing maturity and resilience," the coach said. "The boys are playing for each other, staying organized, and taking their chances when they come. These are the types of performances that build momentum heading into the second half of the season."

Folsom Lake returns home to face American River on 10/14, looking to extend their winning streak and continue their climb up the conference standings. With their defense tightening and multiple players contributing offensively, the Falcons are quickly proving to be one of the toughest teams to beat in the region.
