Falcons Surge at Big 8 Tournament, Send Strong Men’s Contingent to State

While the overall season may not have reflected their full potential, the Folsom Lake College men's tennis team delivered when it mattered most, turning in a standout performance at the Big 8 Conference Tournament on April 2–3 at American River College.

The Falcons showcased resilience and determination, qualifying one singles player and all three doubles teams for the 3C2A State Championships in Ojai, set for April 22–24. Their efforts marked a strong late-season push and highlighted the team's growth and competitive spirit.

Spencer Hamilton led the charge in singles play, battling his way into the semifinals with impressive performances throughout the tournament. In a tightly contested match, Hamilton showed grit and composure before unfortunately being forced to retire due to injury. His run still stands as a testament to his skill and leadership on the court.

In doubles, the Falcons demonstrated exceptional depth and chemistry, sweeping all three qualifying spots. The teams of Spencer Hamilton and Lucas Borman, Dan Han and Joaquin Battle, and Kai Scott and Drew Biggs each earned their place at the state championships, proving to be a formidable presence in the conference.

Though the season had its challenges, the Falcons' performance at the Big 8 Tournament reflects a team that refused to back down, instead rising to the occasion when the stakes were highest.

Now, with momentum on their side, Folsom Lake looks ahead to Ojai, ready to compete against the state's best and continue their postseason run.
