Falcons Soar Into the New Year With Statement Conference Win Over Sac City

Folsom Lake College closed out 2025 in dominant fashion, rolling past Sacramento City 84–62 on December 30 at Falcon Court in a pre–New Year's matchup that also marked the Falcons' first conference victory of the season.

After building a 31–18 lead in the opening quarter, Folsom Lake weathered a brief surge from the Panthers before breaking the game open with a decisive 26-point fourth quarter. The win improved the Falcons to 13–1 overall and 2–0 in conference play, continuing an impressive early-season run.

Balanced scoring and relentless defense fueled the victory. Kelis Powell led all scorers with 14 points, while Lexi Peters and Ursula Chen added 13 apiece. Chen was especially efficient from deep, knocking down three three-pointers and pulling down eight rebounds. Jasmine Clee provided a spark in limited minutes, scoring 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

Folsom Lake's depth proved to be the difference, as the bench combined for 25 points and controlled the glass. Jada Tupou anchored the interior with nine rebounds to go along with 10 points and four assists, helping the Falcons finish with a commanding 42–28 rebounding advantage.

Defensively, Folsom Lake forced 18 Sacramento City turnovers and turned them into transition opportunities, while also recording 14 steals as a team. Nyah Fortune stuffed the stat sheet with six assists and five steals, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.

The Panthers struggled to keep pace late as the Falcons pulled away.

With momentum heading into the new year, Folsom Lake sent a clear message in its conference opener: the Falcons are ready to contend.
