Falcons Pull Away Late to Top Cosumnes River, 76–63

The Folsom Lake women's basketball team used a balanced offensive attack and a strong second half to secure a 76–63 home win over Cosumnes River on January 2 at Folsom Lake College.

Folsom Lake set the tone early, jumping out to a 21–12 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and active defense. The Falcons maintained control in the second quarter, extending the advantage to 39–29 at halftime. Cosumnes River responded with its best stretch in the third quarter, outscoring Folsom Lake 21–19 to cut into the deficit, but the Falcons answered in the final quarter to close out the victory.

Jada Tupou led Folsom Lake with an impressive performance, scoring 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. Kelis Powell added 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench, providing a key spark. Lexi Peters contributed 11 points, six assists, and four steals, while Nyah Fortune filled the stat sheet with nine points and six assists. Folsom Lake shot 47.6 percent from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers, helping create separation down the stretch.

With the win, Folsom Lake continued to build momentum at home, showing depth, ball movement, and timely shooting as conference play moves forward.
