Bio

As Folsom Lake College’s Women Soccer’s 1st Assistant, Coach Pat Powers brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the program, with a deep background in competitive youth, high school, and collegiate soccer throughout California. Widely respected for his innovative approach to attacking play and creating goal-scoring opportunities, Pat is recognized as both a talented teacher and a passionate mentor dedicated to developing talented players to achieve their highest level. He specializes in coaching forwards and goal-scoring techniques, with a strong focus on creating dynamic, confident attacking players.
Coach Powers is the co-architect of the decade plus of success for Folsom Lake College Women’s Soccer, where he helped lead the program to back-to-back 3C2A State Championships in 2023 and 2024, four 3C2A Final Four appearances, and seven Big 8 Conference titles. His contribution to the Falcons’ national success earned him a place on the United Soccer Coaches National Coaching Staff of the Year—a testament to his skill, vision, and commitment to player development.
Coach Powers brings personal playing experience to his coaching philosophy, having competed at the collegiate level for California State University Sacramento and American River College. At ARC, he left a lasting legacy as the all-time leading goal scorer, tallying 29 goals across the 1999 and 2002 seasons.
Pat is passionate about more than just technical skill—he is deeply committed to mentoring young athletes, helping them develop leadership qualities, confidence, and a winning mindset both on and off the field. His coaching goes beyond drills and tactics to instill resilience, discipline, and character in every player with whom he works.
Coach Powers holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and plans to complete his USSF C License and Bachelor’s degree as he continues to advance his coaching career at the collegiate level. In addition to his role at FLCWS, Powers serves as the Head Coach of youth teams and Technical Finishing Program Leader for Folsom Lake Surf.
