Bio

Dorothy MacPhail joined the Folsom Lake College coaching staff in 2023 helping with the day-to-day coaching responsibilities. She also coordinates athletes' evaluations & promotions on recruiting platforms to assist our athletes in playing at the next level.  Previously, she was coaching in the Elk Grove School district for multiple schools at various levels with boys, girls, and coed teams (Dillard, Albiani, & Pleasant Grove). She was also just named the boys’ varsity head coach at Elk Grove High School. 

Coach Dorothy started playing volleyball in 9th grade for Pamela Wittpen at Hiram Johnson High School in Sacramento and earned an athletic scholarship to play volleyball for Morgan State University.  Coach Dorothy earned multiple awards and recognitions as an outside hitter and was inducted into Morgan State's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022.  

Dorothy has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morgan State University and a Master's degree in Psychology from California State University Sacramento.
